Just for fun we decided to let Macie add a little "real" food to her meal. The family was having a pretty good home cooked meal and Macie got in on some mashed potato action!!!
First I just put a glob on her tray and she loved playing with it as if it was playdough. Then those little fingers made their way to her mouth.....
It was love at first bite.....just look at that smile!!!
This next picture is NOT her having a fit....she's laughing and smiling so big you can barely see her eyes. She REALLY REALLY loves mashed potatoes!!!
Needless to say she has DIBS on the leftovers!!!

San Antonio and The Volcano...
Last weekend Gracie and I headed down to San Antonio with her Honor Choir from school on a contest/field trip. It was fantastic! She absolutely loved the IMAX Alamo movie and now has a new passion for Texas History (Uncle Ken the history professor should love that)....
The hotel was fantastic (of course she loves staying in a hotel anyway), but this one was truly beautiful especially for one chosen for a school field trip. She adored the view from the balcony right outside our room....
I'll have to tell you all about our mother/daughter adventures, her first GIANT rollar coaster ride, the AMAZING hotel room, and all the other fun details later because right now I have to give a shout out to the hubs and his daddy skills!
First off, Macie was sick when I left for San Antonio. I had to make the drive starting at 5am Friday morning and wouldn't you know that Macie gets sick Thursday night and CANNOT sleep because she was so congested. So daddy stays up ALL night with her on his own so I could get some sleep for the big drive and trip ahead. Then he manages to make it all day on no sleep with a sick baby until my mother can get over to help him Friday night. She took over and stayed up all Friday night so Michael could get some sleep. What a team!!! Then he was back on duty until I got home late Saturday night. I was super proud of him! (Macie is much better by the way.)
Then he pulls another SUPERdaddy card for Gracie. That same Thursday that Macie got sick before Gracie and I's trip, Gracie comes home with a family project of making a volano. I didn't know how in the world that was going to get done because she and I were leaving for the one weekend we had to make it and I knew the week would be too busy to find time. That's where daddy comes in! He found all the supplies she needed to build it at his work and devoted two weekday afternoons to Gracie and her volcano. That may not sound like much, but our afternoons are SUPER busy and finding time to sit down and design, build, and decorate a volcano are pretty much non-existant....but they did it!!!!!
It worked perfectly at school and Gracie was super happy that she got to participate after all!

Easter Memories....
This was our first Easter as a family of four! My mom (who we lovingly call NaNa) made sure that it was fun, tasty, and memorable. She made a GREAT Easter display to welcome the girls and serve as a great picture depot!
Nana always goes all out for us because she wants the girls to remember that Nana's house was a special place to go that was full of loving memories, fun, and special times. Of course she can cook with the best of them too. Dinner was great! I snapped a quick picture of the table decor before we covered it in yummy Easter dinner. Check out the special Easter cake she made! I wish I was a gifted as my mom. Unfortunately cooking and hosting is not really my area of giftedness! ha ha
Then of course, what Easter is complete without a good ol' fashion egg hunt. Daddy pushed the baby (she got to hunt eggs in style) while poor big sister Gracie had to fend for herself. Here's a pic right before they took off! Macie was more interested in chewing on her bucket than using it!

We had such a blessed Easter. I can't wait until Macie knows the REAL meaning of Easter like her sister does. One of the first things Gracie said that morning was "well Jesus is out of the grave!". So true so true! I'm so thankful we got to celebrate such a special "first Easter" at Nana's house. God has really blessed us.
To close my post I just had to include another video clip. This one is yet another clip of Macie bouncing but I can't help it....it just trips me up to see her hop on one leg! HA HA Daddy makes her favorite noise while she's bouncing and I just melt when she coos back at him. I'm sorry everyone, it's cheesy but it just makes me smile. Until next time....
